Fountains can be beautiful and captivating. They provide inspiration for the water features that we create in our gardens.
The Digital Water Pavilion shows that there are still innovative ways to use water. It is a building with liquid walls created by architects and engineers at MIT. It will be unveiled next year at the 2008 World Expo in Zaragoza, Spain.
The short video below gives a good impression of how the pavilion will look. As you can see, the curtains of water are like a digital display - a computer opens and closes the valves to create patterns and words. You can read more about how it is done on the Pavilion www site.
The next step will be to have a wall of water in the backyard that uses digital technology. It could display patterns, be a clock or a timer for roasting on the barbecue. Perhaps it would only be a novelty, but potentially it could be more.

Sounds awesome Paul. How great would that be to have in the garden?
